A market full of history and atmosphere

The Mercat de l’Olivar is located in the heart of Palma, just a few minutes’ walk from Plaça d’Espanya. Since its opening in 1951, it has been one of the city’s most important and traditional food markets. Inside the spacious market hall with its high ceilings and natural light, visitors find a lively mix of colours, scents and sounds – an authentic place to experience everyday Mallorcan life.

Fresh variety and culinary delights

The Mercat de l’Olivar offers everything a foodie could wish for: fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, meat, cheese, bread, spices and typical Mallorcan specialities such as sobrasada and ensaimadas. The large fish hall is particularly impressive, where fresh Mediterranean catch is sold daily. Those who don’t just want to shop but also taste can enjoy a wide selection of small tapas bars, sushi counters and cosy eateries serving freshly prepared dishes right on the spot.
