Palma impresses not only with its sights and cultural attractions but also with its lively market halls, which offer a glimpse into the city’s culinary soul. The three most important markets are Mercat de l’Olivar, Mercat de Santa Catalina and Mercat Pere Garau.

The centrally located Mercat de l’Olivar is known for its wide range of fresh fish, fruit, vegetables and regional produce. Numerous tapas bars invite you to taste and linger. The Mercat de Santa Catalina in the Santa Catalina district is particularly popular with locals and foodies. Here you’ll find trendy gastronomy, international specialities and a modern atmosphere.

Mercat Pere Garau is a real insider tip for those who want to experience authentic Mallorcan flair. Slightly off the tourist trail, it’s known for its colourful mix of local products, exotic vegetables and multicultural atmosphere. Saturdays are especially lively here.

All three markets offer a unique way to experience Palma and its people up close. Thanks to numerous parking garages and underground car parks, visiting the markets by car is easy and stress-free.

Parking at the market halls

At the Mercat de l’Olivar, you’ll find several underground car parks directly nearby. When visiting Mercat de Santa Catalina or Mercat Pere Garau, you can try finding a space in the surrounding streets. If none are available, there are several car parks within a short walking distance.
